摘要

Thermal processes generated by a direct current flowing in a core of the HVDC cable were investigated. In the physical model of the system five regions are considered: Cu, XLPE, SC, Pb, PE. Convectional cooling of the external coating is assumed. The transient thermal field is determined by the method of finite elements. The stationary field is computed in analytical way. The long lasting admissible current is determined. Spatial-time distributions of the temperature are presented. The discussion of the achieved results has been carried out taking into account a change of the heat transfer coefficient.
