Global oil demand is growing at its fastest rate since 2010, with consumer spend- ing stimulated by lower prices. But demand is not expanding quickly enough to absorb the extra supply that refneries are producing, and stocks are building. US products inventories ended last year at 830mn bl, up by 55mn bl from a year earlier and the highest recorded for the end of December since 1981.
