Crude prices rose following a drop in Libyan output and weekly US data showing lower crude stocks in the US midcontinent. Atlantic basin benchmark North Sea Dated rose by 30¢/bl to $96.73/bl, while US benchmark October WTI rose by 24¢/bl to $93.07/bl. October‐loading North Sea light sweet grades found frm support from strong light distillate refning margins and concerns over Libyan supplies. Light sour regional grade Forties frmed relative to North Sea Dated as disruptions dragged on at the Buzzard feld — the largest contributor to the Forties stream. But Buzzard production is now rising after several stoppages since the end of planned maintenance on 25 August.
