Global oil demand growth has been shrinking this year, led by a slowdown in the emerging economies. Inland deliveries in the Argus-16 group of large consuming countries — which account for 60pc of global demand — were 0.4pc lower in January-August than a year earlier. This marks the frst year-on-year decline since 2009.
