Growing Chinese demand is consolidating Asia-Pacific's position as Saudi Arabia's main crude export market.Saudi crude sales to China have been rising at 18pc/yr since 2001.Chinese state-owned firms Sinochem and Sinopec,through its affiliate Unipec,have contracts worth 440,000 b/d with state-owned Saudi Aramco and are negotiating increases of 45,000-65,000 b/d for next year.Chinese crude imports from Saudi Arabia rose by 40pc in January-September compared with a year earlier to 448,000 b/d.
