CFTC approves new position limits rules

US commodities regulator the CFTC has approved rules setting position limits for energy futures and swaps contracts simi-lar to rules rejected by a federal court in 2012. The commission approved two rules setting position limits for spot-month and aggregate holdings of futures and equivalent swaps contracts for 28 core commodities, including crude, natu-ral gas, heating oil and gasoline.
