Iran is struggling to expand and upgrade refineries to address the effects of inter- national sanctions on gasoline supply. State-owned refiner NIORDC started up an 18,000 b/d isomerisation unit and an 18,000 b/d light naphtha treatment unit at the 220,000 b/d Tehran refinery in July. The units will help produce nearly 18,000 b/d of high-octane gasoline.
