Naimi stays the course

Crude demand is climbing, the global economy is firming and oil prices are stabilising, Saudi Arabian oil minister Ali Naimi says. Opec made a “historic decision” in November not to “intervene in the market” by cutting output, despite global supply growth outstripping demand growth, Naimi says (AGM, 16 January, p2). History will show that the decision was “the correct path forward”, he says.
