Serbia's EPS turns to significant profit in 1Q23

Serbian state-run power producer Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) managed to turn to a profit of nearly €300mn in the first quarter of the year after suffering a loss of almost RSD30bn (€256mn) in the same period last year. EPS officially become a closed joint-stock company, 100% owned by the government, in April with a total of 36.5mn shares issued at a nominal value of total €3.1bn. "EPS, like other state enterprises, will be professionalised," PM Ana Brnabic said in April.
