Qatar: Qasco will acquire 9 percent stake in Sphere

Qatar Steel Company (Qasco) will acquire over 9 percent strategic stake in Australia-based Sphere Investments for Adollars13.15mn as part of efforts to strengthen its supply chain across the world. Sphere investments has considerable interest in iron ore project in Mauritania, West Africa. Qasco, a. subsidiary of blue-chip Industries; Qatar, has signed a share placement agreement with Sphere Investments to buy 9.13mn fully-paid ordinary shares at Adollars1.15 a share for ollars10.49mn. The agreement was signed by Qasco director and general! manager Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad al-Thani and Sphere managing director Alexander Bums in the presence of SNIM director (Studies and Development) Abdallah Quld Abdel Fet-tah.
