Iraqi marketing frm Somo is adjusting quality compensation payments for Basrah Light crude exports to refect increasingly heavy cargoes. Somo will pay buyers an extra 20￠/bl for each 1°API a cargo falls below 27°API, in addition to the 40￠/bl it pays for each 1°API a cargo is below 34°API. The new system applies to cargoes loading from January.
