Shippers anxious about fuel switch

A switch to lower-sulphur bunker fuel in North American waters this year coincides with a large drop in supply. Recent refinery closures in the US and Europe — principally of less complex, sweet crude processing facilities — mean that 1pc fuel oil production may be insufficient to meet increased demand.
