European Commission aims to boost EU biomethane production with industry partnership

The European Commission and industry leaders have launched the Biomethane Industrial Partnership to boost the EU’s biomethane production as an alternative to Russian gas. On 29 September, EU Energy Commissioner Kadri Simson and Green Deal Vice-President Frans Timmermans unveiled the public-private partnership during an event of the EU’s Sustainable Energy week in Brussels.
