Despite a somewhat complex incubation, on which AOGM has regularly reported, and despite having run into serious delays, the project for developing several fields discovered on Block 208 and two adjacent tracts, known as El Merk, has moved significantly forward in recent months. Following the issue of an international tender, priced bids were submitted in December and they are now being evaluated, according to Anadarko Petroleum Corporation. Block 208 is located in the Berkine basin.
