Mexican glyphosate imports plummet in 2022

Imports of the herbicide, glyphosate, into Mexico have dropped dramatically in the past year, according to a report from the Ministry of the Environment. In the ?rst eight months of the year, authorised imports of formulated glyphosate fell to 1,414 tonnes, from 7,498 tonnes in the whole of 2021. Quotas had been halved to some 8,263 tonnes. At the end of 2021, the Mexican government’s science and technology counsel, the Conacyt, recommended that competent authorities halve glyphosate herbicide import quotas for this year.
