Koppert launches Brazilian biologicals start-up investment fund

Dutch bioproducts company Koppert Biological Systems’ Brazilian subsidiary, Koppert do Brasil (Piracicaba), has launched an investment fund targeted at biological inputs development start-up businesses in the country. The fund is worth up to R$50 million (US$9.5 million at the current rate). The company says that the fund is particularly focused on businesses developing technologies and services seeking to “optimise farmer operations from harvest planning to commercialising products, passing from crop management to storage”. The initial investment will be composed of seed capital for such businesses.
