Oil Production Rose to 4.1 Million B/D in the Second Quarter of 2005

Iranian oil production,which has been on an upward trend since 2002-03,rose to an average of 4.1 million b/d in the first quarter of Iranian year 1384(2005-2006),which corresponds to the period from 21 March to 21 June 2005(the Iranian fiscal year runs from 21 March to 20 March).According to the Oil Ministry,after dropping from 3.57 million b/d in 2001-2002 to 3.3 million b/d in 2002-2003,oil production rebounded by 530,000 b/d in the following two years,to an average of 3,835,000 b/d in 2004-2005.The increase has continued since then and,according to official sources,output topped the 4-million b/d mark at the end of 2004.
