Pearl GTL Issues Tenders for Several Onshore Works Packages

After awarding a project management consultancy(PMC)contract in September to a consortium composed of JGC Corporation and KBR,Qatar Shell GTL Limited,a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell,has now invited some 45 prequalified companies to submit bids for several packages of onshore work associated with its gas-to-liquids(GTL)project,Pearl GTL.The project is being undertaken by a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum(QP-51%)and Qatar Shell(49%)and entails the construction of a 140,000-b/d GTL plant at Ras Laffan,which is to be developed in two 70,000-b/d stages.Tenders had already been issued for the offshore works,including the supply and installation of two jackets for wellhead platforms,the installation of processing facilities and the laying of gaslines to link the platforms to Ras Laffan.
