The South Korean company LG Engineering & Construction Corp.has won an EPC (engineering,procurement and construction) contract for the new linear alkyl benzene (LAB) plant being developed by Qatar Petroleum (QP) at Messaid.The contract is worth QR 873.6 million (US240 million) and calls for the construction of a plant with a capacity of 110,000 tons/year of LAB and 88,000 tons/year of paraffin-n utilizing the UOP-UK process.
