UK biotechnology start-up Resurrect Bio (London) has raised ￡1.6 million ($2 million at the current rate) in its seed investment round. The business is a spin-off of UK-based The Sainsbury Laboratory (Norwich). Resurrect Bio discloses that the capital will be used to accelerate its product development and strengthen its underlying disease-resistance trait-discovery platform. The platform leverages gene-editing techniques to improve the immune systems of crops to make them more resistant to disease, it explains.
