Confirmation of the Discovery of a Major Offshore Structure Will Enable Ghana to Become an Oil Producer

Following the announcement on 18 June last of an offshore oil discovery with the Mahogany-1 well drilled on the West Cape Three Points tract,Ghanaian officials and some local media immediately voiced their delight that the country would very shortly become an oil producer (AOG,1 July,2007).
