Petronet Signs an SPA with RasGas II for the Purchase of 1.25 Million Tons of LNG Over Nine Months

Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas Company II(RasGas II)has signed a sales and purchase agreement(SPA)with Petronet LNG for the supply of 1.25 million tons of liquefied natural gas(LNG)to the Indian company in 20 cargoes.The first shipment was due to be delivered to Petronet's Dahej terminal on 7 July and deliveries are scheduled to continue until March 2008.The Managing Director of Petronet,Mr.Prosad Dasgupta,indicated that the contract contained an option for an extension up to December 2008,which would double the volume supplied.He added that this option would be discussed in early 2008 and that its exercise would depend on prices.
