Russia plans import quotas for crop protection products

Russia plans to introduce quotas on the import of crop protection products from October 1 this year in a move that would favour”reliable”domestic suppliers.According to the nation’s Ministry of Agriculture,the quota will be set at 15,000 metric tons until April 30,2024.The amount of the import quota was calculated based on the volume of production,consumption and import of pesticides in Russia over the past three years and will be divided based on three product types:herbicides,fungicides,and insecticides.
