The French company Total,which is the principal promoter of the Pars LNG project,indicated recently that the project was certainly not on the point of being launched.At the 8th International Oil Summit held in Paris on 5 April,the company's Chief Executive Officer,Mr.Christophe de Margerie,explained in essence that the project was still under discussion,that the negotiations were far from being completed and that the impact of the increase in oil industry costs was being studied very attentively.
