ACWA Power/GIC/Mitsubishi Consortium Selected for the Shuqaiq Independent Power and Water Project

A consortium composed of Arabian Company for Water and Power Projects Ltd.(ACWA Power Projects),Gulf Investment Corporation (GIC) of Kuwait and Mitsubishi Corporation of Japan has announced that it has been retained for the Shuqaiq independent water and power project (IWPP).The project is to be undertaken under the terms of a BOO (build-own-operate) contract and calls for the construction of an 850-MW thermal power station and a 47-million gallon/day reverse osmosis desalination plant,as well as associated utilities such as a fuel oil unloading jetty and water inlet and outlet channels.
