Following the Death of Sheikh Jaber,Parliament Defers Discussion of Project Kuwait Indefinitely

Following the death on 15 January of the Emir of Kuwait,Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah,and the subsequent crisis surrounding his succession,the Kuwaiti Parliament decided to postpone indefinitely its planned discussion of Project Kuwait.The new Emir,Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Sabah,who was named ruler after the automatic successor,Crown Prince Sheikh Saad al-Abdallah al-Sabah,was deposed for health reasons,was sworn in before Parliament on 29 January.
