Japan gives green light to Corteva’s gene-edited corn

Japan’s Ministries of Agriculture and of Health have approved Corteva Agriscience’s strain of CRISPR-edited waxy corn(maize),reports the USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service(FAS).This marks the fourth such geneedited food product that the nation has not subjected to regulations for genetically modified food,feed,and biodiversity.Other such products include GM tomatoes with increased gamma-aminobutyric acid(GABA)content.
