Foster Wheeler to Carry Out Feasibility Studies for a New Refinery and the Expansion of the Ruwais Refinery

The Abu Dhabi office of Foster Wheeler International Corporation(FWIC),part of the American engineering and construction group Foster Wheeler Ltd.,has been commissioned by Abu Dhabi Oil Refinery Company(Takreer)to carry out two detailed feasibility studies,one concerning a new grassroots refinery to be located alongside the existing Ruwais refinery and one for the installation of a new visbreaker at the Ruwais plant.The value of the two contracts was not disclosed,but Foster Wheeler indicates that the grassroots refinery study,which will also encompass a planned new sub-sea crude pipeline,was booked into the company's second-quarter 2006 accounts,while the second will be included in its third-quarter bookings.
