French Ag Minister pushes for reassessment of S-metolachlor withdrawal plan

French Agriculture Minister Marc Fesneau has called on the nation's food safety agency, the Anses, to reassess its plan to withdraw authorization of the main uses of plant protection products containing the herbicide, S-metolachlor. Mr Fesneau believes that the decision is not aligned with the "European calendar" and that there is a lack of "credible alternatives" to the herbicide, reports national media.
