The consortium composed of Merlon Petroleum and Melrose Resources is continuing to record fresh successes on its onshore concessions in the Nile delta region.In an update on its drilling activities published in January,Melrose reported the following results:The West Dikirnis No.1 exploration well encountered a 147-foot gross gas-filled interval at a depth of 8,171-8,318 feet with no water contact.
