Senators press USDA to step up bird flu response with egg, poultry prices rising

A bipartisan group of eight senators is urging USDA Secretary Tom Vilsack to move faster to deploy FY 2023 funding set aside to respond to the ongoing H5N1 highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) outbreak, which has resulted in massive losses across US poultry flocks and contributed to surging retail egg and poultry prices.
