Technip,Bechtel,Chiyoda and JGC Prequalified to Bid for the OGD-3 Gas Project

Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd.(Gasco) is to award the EPC (engineering,procurement and construction) contract for the third phase of its onshore gas development program,OGD-3,within a few weeks,the company's Managing Director,Mr.Mohammad Sahoo,has announced.Four companies were prequalified for the project,which is expected to cost Dh 4.77 billion (US1.3 billion).They are Technip of France,Bechtel of the U.S.and the Japanese companies Chiyoda Corp.and JGC.Mr.Sahoo said negotiations with the bidders on the technical and legal aspects of the project were almost complete and that the contract would probably be awarded during the feast of Ramadan (which starts around the middle of October).
