Rewiew Of Global Developments in The Pig Iron Markets

I would like to share with you our ideas about the present pig iron market situation, including our opinion, that we are entering, or rather that we have already entered into the new period of raising world steel production, increasing demand and strengthening prices. I am sure that it is only beginning of a long period of steady demand and strong prices for practically all steel products in general and merchant pig iron in particular. In the end of the 20th Century the crisis in Asia shocked the whole world economy. It was followed by financial default in Russia in 1998, which pushed all markets even further down. Now the situation turned into the opposite direction - Economy in the most part of Asia countries is quite strong and in China it is just booming. Negative consequences of the Russian crisis are over and now we see quite steady economic growth there as well. Strong positive developments in Asia are influencing and in some aspects are dominating the world market situation. Now we are approaching the market conditions which we had before the Crisis and in some parameters I am sure we will see much higher levels. In principle, that is what I wanted to say, but I have another 20 minutes to speak about pig iron.
