Increasing Production of Ezz Dkheila Company in 2001

During the period January - August 2001 Ezz Dkheila Company produced 2 million tons of long and flat products, up by about 300 thousand tons over the production of the same period in 2000. But the increase in sales was not at the same level of the increase in production. On contrary, the sales to the domestic market during this period in 2001 were less by 2 percent than they were in the same period of 2000. These sales amounted to 1.666 million tons and the volume of exports amounted to 374 thousand tons.It is worth noting that the steel imports into Egypt either of long or flat products fell during the first eight months of this year significantly: they remained within ten thousand tons of long products and 134 thousand tons of flat products, compared to 559 thousand tons of long products and 598 thousand tons of flat products during 1998.
