World Steel sees iron ore surplus growing up to 2017

The World Steel Association expects the global iron ore market to be roughly in balance between supply and demand this year, but to move progressively into a growing surplus during 20142017-. The association's director general Edwin Basson told a briefing in London attended by Platts Thursday that this is the result of a detailed examination of the viability of new iron ore projects by the group's raw materials committee.
