Turkey's Kocaer to integrate with induction furnace in 2015

Turkish sections and bar rolling mill Kocaer will integrate backwards with an induction furnace by mid-2015 in order to make up for a lack of consistent, high-quality supply of billet and bloom on the merchant market, an informed market source said on Tuesday. The furnace will have a nameplate capacity of 700,000 metric tons/year, but the target capacity is 500,000 mt, giving Kocaer a 100% cover for billets and blooms to its rolling mills.
