It is expected that the new cold rolling mill belonging to Maghreb Steel had started up production during last May with a production capacity of 300 thousand tons of CR coils per year. This had been asserted to the 《Arab Steel》 magazine by Mr. Al-Fadhel Sakkat, ppresident of the company. Mr. Sakkat who has been the president of Maghreb Tubes Company, which has changed its commercial name to 《Maghreb Steel》 since the date of its establishment in 1975, confirmed that the Maghreb the new project and that there will be no problem for the marketing of the production of this project which will be based on the Japanese and European standards.The project will make its sales under the brand of Cawasaki Steel Corp.It is well known that the Maghreb Tubes (the previous name of the company) had increased its production of continuous steel galvanised coil from 35.000 tons per year in 1988 to 60.000 tons per year in 1994 and to 100.000 tons in 1999.
