Agreements for the Development of the Akkas, Sibba and Mansouriya Gas Fields Have Been Signed

More than seven months after the third international bid round organized by the Iraqi Oil Ministry closed in October 2010, three contracts were finally signed in early June for the development of the three gas fields offered in this bid round. The fields concerned are Akkas, Mansouriya and Sibba and the companies/consortia contracted to develop them are respectively Korea Gas Corporation (Kogas), TPAO of Turkey in association with Kuwait Energy Company and Kogas, and Kuwait Energy Company/TPAO (see sidebar below).
