Investments in the Hydrocarbon Sector Expected to Total $17.2 Billion in 2011

On the occasion of the presentation of the company's 2010 results, the Chairman of Sonatrach, Mr. Nordine Cherouati, indicated that investments in the Algerian hydrocarbon sector were expected to total $17.2 billion in 2011 (including a portion in dinars converted into dollars). In this same presentation, Mr. Cherouati had earlier pointed out that the national oil company's investment effort in 2010 had been substantial, with outlays of $14 billion, which was 5% more than in 2009.
