Qatar Shipping Co. Wins $515-Million Contract from Qatar Petroleum for the Supply of Ships and Equipment

Qatar Shipping Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Qatar Navigation, has been awarded a contract worth QR 1,875 million ($515.1 million) by Qatar Petroleum (QP) for the supply of harbor tugs, pilot boats and mooring equipment in the port of Messaid and their operation for a 20-year period starting in 2014. Qatar Shipping is to build 19 boats over the next three years. The company already operates tugs, pilot boats and mooring buoys in the port and is due to continue performing these activities until the new contract takes effect.
