Eutelsat's 10B satellite launches on Falcon 9 mission

Eutelsat has announced the successful launch of its 10B satellite, ordered in 2019 to ensure continuity for customers relying on the 10A satellite. The latter could see operations come to an end next year, said the company. The flight mission was carried out by SpaceX using a Falcon 9 rocket, although Eutelsat had initially contracted Arianespace for the launch. Built by Thales Alenia Space, Eutelsat 10B features the manufacturer's Spacebus Neo platform. Eutelsat confirmed that the all-electric satellite has already secured multi-year capacity commitments with several leading inflight connectivity service providers, while also helping to meet increasing demand from maritime customers.
