The government budget for Kuwait's 2009-10 fiscal year, which begins on 1 April, projects a deficit of KD 5.03 billion (17.06 billion), according to the chairman of the parliamentary budget committee, Mr. Adnan Abdul-Samad. The committee estimates total receipts at KD 7.8 billion and expenditure at KD 12.05 billion, "which means that the budget deficit will reach KD 5 billion after the deduction of 10% of receipts for the Reserve Fund for Future Generations [RFFG]," said Mr. Abdul-Samad.
