Raoq-1 Exploration Well Yields Promising Hydrocarbon Indications

The Norwegian company DNO ASA is currently drilling the Raoq-1 exploration well on Block 53, and the first signs of its final results are promising. DNO reported on 20 January that it had found "strong hydrocarbon indications" in the well. By then, the well had reached its total depth in the basement and DNO was planning to continue its well log program and was preparing extensive production tests. In the event that the tests yield a confirmed commercial flow of hydrocarbons, facilities would be installed for conducting long-term tests of Raoq-1.
