Pioneer Natural Resources to Utilize GE Energy's Jenbacher Engines to Reduce Associated Gas Emissions

GE Energy is increasingly positioning itself on the rapidly-growing market of the reduction in gas emissions associated with oil operations and intends to participate in projects of this kind in a growing number of oil-producing countries. In that regard, it announced on 5 August that it had supplied three Jenbacher J312 gas engines for a gas emission reduction project at an oil site in the Tunisian Sahara. They are to be installed at a future thermal power station being built at Waha, which will be operated by the U.S. company Pioneer Natural Resources. This power station will run on gas that is associated with oil. Pioneer Natural Resources' partner is the Entreprise Tunisienne d'Activites Petrolieres (ETAP).
