Cairo Administrative Court Calls for Natural Gas Exports to Israel to Be Halted

Invoking article 123 of the Egyptian constitution, which stipulates that the country's natural resources belong to present and future generations, and pointing out that the government is obliged to obtain the approval of Parliament for any commitment regarding the exploitation of those resources, a Cairo administrative court issued a ruling on 18 November overriding the decision taken by the Oil Minister concerning the export of natural gas to Israel.
