OPEC Countries'Anneal Oil Export Earnings Doubled to 730-Billion Between 2004 and 2007

The upsurge in oil prices since 2004 has resulted in a doubling of the annual oil export earnings of the 13 member countries of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries(OPEC).Between 2004 and 2007 the value of their oil exports increased by 100.2%,from 364,792 million to 730,434 million,according to the latest edition of the OPEC Annual Statistical Bulletin that the organization's secretariat has just published and from which the following tables are extracted.In the six years from 2002 to 2007 the increase totaled 245%(Table 1).This statistical series concerns the current members of OPEC,including Angola and Ecuador,which were not members of the organization a few years ago(Angola joined OPEC at the beginning of 2007 and Ecuador in October 2007,its membership having been"suspended"since 1992).
