Dubai Petroleum Establishment Signs a Three-Year Drilling Contract with Maersk Contractors

Maersk Contractors,a division of A.P.Moller-Maersk Group,has won a contract from Dubai Petroleum Establishment(DPE)for offshore drilling from a jack-up rig.The contract is for a three-year term starting from the time the drilling rig arrives in Dubai,which is to say the end of the first quarter of 2008.The jack-up rig is the first of a series of four identical rigs that are under construction for Maersk Contractors in the Singapore shipyard of KeppelFels."Sophisticated drilling equipment will enable the rig to drill deep and difficult wells,with increased efficiency for the customer," explained Maersk in a statement.
