Two New Petrochemical Complexes to Be Built at Jubail and Yanbu at a Cost of us6.1 Billion

Two new petrochemical complexes are to be built in each of the industrial cities of Jubail and Yanbu at a total cost of some SR 23 billion (6.1 billion),the Oil Minister,Mr.Ali al-Naimi,has announced.The Jubail complex will be developed in partnership with three foreign companies,one European,one Japanese and one American,and part of the venture's capital will be offered to the public in coordination with the Capital Markets Authority (CMA).This complex will include units for the production of polypropylene,high-density polyethylene,vinyl ethylene acid,methyl methacrylates,polymethyl/methacrylates,acrylonitrile,polyacry lonitrile and carbon fibers."Some of these products are going to be produced in the kingdom for the first time," indicated Mr.al-Naimi,as reported by the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
