Petro-Canada's Oil Production in Libya, Algeria and Syria Totaled 148,500 BOE/D in the Second Quarter

As a resutlt of its acquisition of most of the international prop9erties of Veba Oil & Gas, Petro-Canada has becom a major hydrocarbon producer in North Africa (especially Libya) and Syria. The acquisition took effect on 2 May last, and Petro-Canada's production in Syria Libya and Algeria in May and June averaged 148,500 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d), of which Syria accounted for 104,800 boe/d (of both oil and gas), Libya for 41,800 b/d of oil and Algeria for 1,900 b/d (over the three months from April to June).
