Dana Gas Announces Another Gas Find and the Start-Up of the Ras Shukheir LPG Plant

Dana Gas has reported another gas discovery on the West El Qantara concession in the Nile delta, the second it has made this year following the one on the Kom Ombo concession in Upper Egypt, which was announced in the second quarter (AOG, 16 Sept., 2012). The latest find was made with the West Sama-1 well, which was drilled close to the Sama-1 and Sama-2 wells and encountered a structure containing estimated resources in place of 4-6 billion cubic feet of natural gas, according to Dana Gas. The Sharjah-based company indicated on 22 October that it was drawing up a development plan for the field, which is to be connected to a pipeline running to the nearby South El Manzala gas processing plant within a week. Both the plant and the pipeline are owned and operated by Dana Gas.
